The business was acquired by Caparo in 2007 and since then has benefitted from a £12m investment programme in new manufacturing equipment, buildings and infrastructure, IT and overall business systems, to create an exciting Central European manufacturing base for Caparo Forging. With presses up to 4,000 ton and a range of Zygmunt fast action hammers fed by new induction heaters, Bomet is able to offer high levels of service and quality. An ISO 9001:2000 quality accreditation is in place and full approval to TS 16949 was also achieved in May 2009. Newly improved on-site heat treatment and machining facilities have further developed the overall capability levels.
Bomet produces a range of products for many industry applications some of which are turnbuckles, lashing bars, twistlocks, sockets, valves and ship hooks. The company supplies forgings to the railway, heavy truck, construction equipment and shipbuilding sectors.
In-house die making supported by solid and surface modelling, 3D simulation and prototyping capability enables a rapid response to customer development projects.
