Nupac Clamps, part of Caparo Engineering Ltd, have developed an innovative hexagonal plastic float, which are used as an insulating layer to suppress evaporation from open surfaces or volatile or hot liquids. Compared to traditional spherical floats, hexagonal floats require only one layer for complete coverage and their compact construction prevents sinking.
When placed on a liquid surface these floats create a blanket and can provide 95% coverage, a 70% reduction in fluid loss and an 80% reduction in heat loss, which means significant savings in energy costs.
The floats are available in 50mm and 100mm and are available from Nupac Clamps. For more information please email nupac@cmt-engineering.co.uk.
